Getting in shape

The truth is we have no time for a gym in this house, I know, excuses, excuses, excuses.  Well let me break out our weekly schedule.

Monday through Thursday:  Wake up at 4:30, get ready for work and out the door by 5:25, Bob drops me off, takes the kids to Layton to my Mom and gets to work by 6:30, we both work until 3pm, I drop Bob off at school or the library to study, grab the kids, head home, fix dinner, eat and then drive to get Bob at 6pm from wherever he is.  We get home about 6:15, get showers (homework will be in here soon, I'm dreading it already), do some chores such as laundry or whatever else needs to be done.  At 7:30pm Bob starts doing homework until about 9 or 9:30 and then he finally goes to bed.  I put the kids to bed at 8pm and sit down, YES, I sit down or ride the eliptical.

Thats our routine 4 days a week, its exhausting, sometimes I wonder how we do it and other times I'm thankful we have a strict routine.  Bob is in school full time and in October I start school and things will be even more hectic.

Fridays:  I work 5:30 to 9 or 10, just depending on whether there is stuff to do or not.  I get off, go to lunch with my monkeys, either take them swimming or to run errands.  We always have something going on.  Get home about 3:30 or 4 and I want to DO NOTHING.  I normally relax for an hour, start dinner or do laundry AGAIN and then around 7pm we watch a movie or Bob does homework.

Saturday and Sunday:  More errands and cleaning house and getting things ready for the week.

So I told Bob we needed to do something, I don't want to pay for a gym membership again.  We have an elipitical, but it can get boring.  I use it quite a bit, but I feeling like I'm getting no where.

So we bought bikes last weekend and we absolutely LOVE them.

We got a trailer for Lex and the dogs, because Lexi isn't able to keep up with us yet.

Daisy and Nova love it.  Normally I put Nova with Lex, but I went around the block again and took him with me.  Its funny, Daisy knows when we are going for a bike ride, she will come by me to put her in the basket.  I love it!!

I never realized how easy riding a bike was as a child, boy am I learning that now.  We are working are way up and by next summer we will be taking our bikes everywhere, for right now, we'll stick with our 1 or 2 mile bike ride everyday and go from there.
