Update on Lexi and switching back to not private...

My baby girl is doing so much better! Its crazy because that Tamiflu works miracles. Lexi went from having a 102 fever all day to a normal temp of 97. I am so thankful we caught this in time. I sure have learned a lot though about the difference between swine flu and the regular flu. Here I am thinking, well she isn't throwing up and she doesn't have the runs, so how in the world could be have swine flu or flu period. Well swine flu attacks your breathing, the syptoms are coughing, high fever, stuffy nose and hard time breathing. Not necessarily all of them, but a high fever is the number one sign apparently. So Lexi had a fever of 101.9 to 102.3 on Tuesday and then on Wednesday it shot up to almost 103. We had taken her in the day before and they said that she was just teething, no test done whatsoever. Well when she continued to run the temp and that was with tylonel, I got worried, so I made an appt with her pediatrician. He checked her ears (which weren't checked the day before), listened to her lungs, check her nose and everything. He then said he was sure she had the H1N1 flu and he was testing her for it. Sure enough 15 minutes later he came in and said it was positive and she had it. I am still shocked to this moment.
But the good news is that Lexi is doing great, she was started on Tamiflu immediately yesterday, she hasn't had a tempature since yesterday around 3, she isn't coughing hardly at all, she is happy, she is smiling, she is eating, she has wet diapers and she is finally getting her color back instead of the white face with bright red cheeks and eyes. My poor baby girl, she is a fighter. Love her to death, she is 4 and half months old and been through it all.

So my other news is that I am seriously debating on switching my blog back to not private, for more reasons than one:

1. It seems that I am always having to add people that don't sign in regularly to my blog again, I can't figure out why.
2. I would love for all my family to be able to read it, its my way of keeping up with my life and its hard when your family is all over the country to keep them all updated without making millions of phone calls.
3. I would love for my grandparents in Texas to be able to see pictures of the kids on a weekly / monthly basis if they want to, they are growing up right before my eyes.
4. Ever since I went private, no one really looks at my blog, except Teri and Jenny who are AWESOME!! Some of my bestest blog buddies ever!

So I am seriously debating, my whole reason for going private was because a ex friend of mine was fired from work and I didn't want her in on my personal life or knowing anything about me. So I am going to switch my blog to not private as of today and see how it goes for about a week and then if I am still having weird feelings, I will switch it back.

If its gonna happen, its gonna happen to us!!

SERIOUSLY!!! I have NO LUCK, oh wait, I take that back, I have the worst luck on the face of this earth.

So Lexi ran a tempature of 102 all day yesterday, my sister called me at 4:30 and said she was taking her to the doc. Bob and I were in Salt Lake getting his results. So I met her at the Roy Clinic where the stupid doctor told us that she was just teething and basically GOOD-BYE!!! So today her fever hit 103.6, I knew it was time for her to see her pediatrician at that point, so she got an appt and out of all the things Lexi has the SWINE FLU! I bawled, I completely lost it, I feel like a horrible mother, but the doctor reassured me that there was nothing more I could do, she was bound to get it and it happened. So my poor baby is so sick and needs major TLC. I feel so bad for her, it upsets me so bad. So with some Tamiflu and TLC she will be better than ever in no time.

Finally!

I have very good news, news that I promise will not be spoiled with bad news in like 2 weeks. I looked back today and wondered how I made it to today. I will admit that July 17th was the scariest day of my life. I have never been so scared in my life to lose a family member and let alone my Husband. I can't describe that feeling, its horrible! I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't concentrate and I couldn't talk. I remember after the surgeon called me when Bob was taken back to the OR that I hit the floor, I told the family liason (SP?) in the waiting room that I couldn't tell my kids that their Dad was going to die. She hugged me and told me that we just needed to pray and hope for the best. I called my Mom shortly after that to tell her to head back home as they had taken the kids up to Yellowstone so they wouldn't have to see their Dad at his worse. I didn't want them to go through that and I am so thankful I made that decision. My Mom cried with me on the phone and talked me through it. I then called Bob's ex to tell her the situation so that she knew what was going on. She cried, I have never in the 6 years I have known her seen her show any emotion towards Bob. She talked to me forever and we continued to keep in touch for the next couple of weeks through text. I was thankful for this and its what I needed. I did't like the women as she was very hateful and rude all the time, but she has changed for the best.
When I walked into the SICU and seen Bob I hit the floor, I screamed and cried and threw a fit, I couldn't believe I was seeing my Husband the way he was. The surgery was only suppose to be 4 hours and it was suppose to be easy and everything. He wasn't suppose to come out on life support, but he did. I remember asking the nurse if he was going to die and she assured me that everything was normal. NORMAL, what is normal, normal to me is not that. She sat and explained everything to me for an hour, she said she would not be leaving his side for her entire shift. I thought at that moment that my whole life came crashing down. I cried the entire way home from the hospital, I still to this day don't know how I made it home. I cried so hard that I couldn't see. When I picked up my baby girl, I looked at her and lost it again. My neighbor held me and told me everything would be okay. She said "Sierra there are so many people praying for your family and everything will be fine." I couldn't believe that at the moment. It was scary! I cried myself to sleep that night, the thought kept going through my head of "how would I go on without my Husband, the guy who works his butt off for his family, loves me unconditionally no matter how ornery, stubborn or hard headed I am?" I didn't sleep that night, I tossed and turned, I called 4 times to check on Bob, each time being told that he was doing awesome! Its so weird to think about that day, I hate it, I never ever want to relive it again.
So today while at the surgeons office for the results from his MRI, Bob said something about how he doesn't remember anything from those first couple of weeks. The surgeon said "yeah you probably won't, but your wife will remember it for the rest of her life." Its true, I live with it everyday, I know that God was watching over my family, my prayers were answered, someone took me threw those hards times, someone got me home that night and someone led me each step of the way and continues. So the good news is that my Husband is better than ever, his heart is perfect. The surgeon said "So Bob I don't need to see you again ever, unless its in passing or to stop and say HI". Wow I almost hit the floor, I can't explain the emotion, but I now will be able to move on with my life and focus on other things. He told Bob, go running, lift your weights again, play with your kids and live your life. YAY!! I am so thankful to Dr Seltzman who took wonderful care of my Husband, without him this miracle and blessing would not be good. I am so thankful to all the medical staff at the U that took such wonderful care of my Husband and me while I had my meltdowns. And last but certainly not least the many of people who have prayed with me and for us. I have the best family and friends. Thanks!

Growing up before my eyes...

I think its crazy how fast time flies. I swear this year just started and here we are with 3 months left. Of course a lot has happened this year, but we are feeling more blessed to have everyone doing just fine right now.

Jaxon started school about 5 weeks ago, we got a phone call the first day of school....SUPRISE, SUPRISE!!! I went in and met with the teacher, who by the way, I love! We talked about things that happened with Jaxon over the summer and everything that happen with our family. She was totally understanding to everything. She had brought up that they had to color themselves and Jaxon drew a line down the middle like the scar his Dad has on his chest. I said its perfectly normal for him to do that with everything he has gone through. He has been through more in the last 6 months than some people go through in a lifetime. After the meeting I met up with her again, Jaxon is doing AWESOME in school, he brings home projects everyday and I am amazed by how much he has already learned and I totally take back what I said about Kindergarten being a waste of time. Jaxon is now going to counceling every week for the next 2 months, he needs someone to talk to about his anger and frustrations. Plus someone to talk to about everything that has gone on and help him cope with it. Jax is such a smart kid, I can't imagine my life without him, even when he does fustrate me to no end, i love the kid to death and would do anything in the world for him.

Ashton is talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and did I mention TALKING. He does not stop at all! Ashton has grown a ton lately, he is growing up too fast. He loves to color and make a mess, he likes to tear up paper and leave it on the floor. He has the strangest obsession with things like rocks, ever since he was 1 he loves rocks, he always has about 5 rocks in his pocket. Ashton has decided that eating is not a neccesity anymore, he maybe eats dinner once a week, the rest of the time he picks and says he is done 3 minutes into dinner. Ashton can't wait to be 4 (or pour as he calls it). He actually tells people his his 4, it cracks me up. Ashton loves to sing, he stills sings cowgirls don't cry and boots with the fur, especially when Lex has her boots with the fur on. SILLY KID! Ashton, what would I do without you, seriously! HE definately put the meaning of FAMILY together. LOVE THIS KID!!

Now my sweet baby girl, who is doing awesome! She is growing like a weed and I hate it so much. She rolls everywhere and loves her thumb. She sucks her thumb now and yes its cute right now, but will it be in 6 months. Ask me then? She is eating baby food, but hates pretty much....EVERYTHING. Her favorites so far are carrots and applesauce, everything else she gags on and refuses to eat it. I think she is finally growing, but I believe length wise the most. She is definately going to be tall. I love my little girl so much. I love having two girls in the house and someone that I will eventually be able to have girlie talks with.

Now for a Bob update for all the people that check my blog for that and yes he is consider one of the kids...KIDDING...HAHAHAHA!!!

Bob is doing great, he is gaining strength back very quickly, I am amazed. He has mowed the lawn twice, because he couldn't stand it any longer. I begged him not to do it, but he doesn't listen like most men. He already says he feels different as a good different. He can walk up a flight of stairs without feeling exhausted and he has SOOOOO much more energy already. Our goal is to run a 5K next year and we will do it. This weekend we are hiking waterfall canyon, I am super excited and Bob is too. I am so thankful he is doing better and continue to pray that it stays that way. We go next Wednesday for a cardiac MRI and hopefully everything will look fine. His scar is looking very good, I am amazed. His back looks horrible still and he will have a scar forever, but thats okay. As long as he is here and good I am fine with that.

Also, I don't know how many people have heard about Paul Cardall, the musician. He was born with a heart disease and just received a new heart two weeks ago. Amazingly he is already home with this sweet little girl and wife. Amazing story if you ever want to read his blog http://mytricuspidatresia.blogspot.com/. I truly recommend reading his amazing story of strength, struggle, hope and faith. He is a true miracle and his story is amazing. From what I understand he will be writing a book, I can't wait!!

YES, we are CRAZY!!!

We had a blast at the State Fair last night. I am still recovering from an exhausting night of running around after kids, making sure the kids were happy and looking at animals. We seen a 1 ton bull, it was huge, lots of cows, goats and sheep. The food was beyond expensive, but we still managed to have fun. Next time though, I will eat on the way down and spend more money riding rides. Here are some pictures from our night out!!

This car was pretty sweet! It had all these signs all over it and it was hilarious! Ashton refused to stand by it, he was having a night!

The race cars were the boys favorite. They giggled like I have never heard them giggle before. LOVE IT!!!

Bob and the kids rode the GIANT YELLOW SLIDE. I thought Ash would hate it, but he loved it.

One of the only request from the boys was to ride the helicopter, yes out of all the things to ride, my boys wanted to ride Helicopters. Bob decided to ride the Dragons with them and discovered he is not as young as he thinks.

The boys were pretty worn out and only had one request and that was a slushie, so I gave in and bought the $4.00 slushies.

Its crazy to think that this girl was this girl below 4 months ago:

She has changed so much, her personality, her looks and everything.

Yesterday she went to the doctor and we got good news and bad news:

BAD NEWS is that her heart isn't getting better, this just plain sucks! Yes its only been two weeks since her cardiology appt at Primarys, but she only has until she is 9 months. I totally misunderstood the doctor down there, I thought for sure there was no surgery at all. Well I was wrong. The doctor basically said that things look good right now, because she isn't showing any signs. BUT and I hate BUTS, this can change at any moment or day. Basically she will show signs of heart failure. I hate that word, I hate the thought of it and I just hate it! Signs are sweating during feedings, turning blue, chronic cough, slow weight gain and tired all the time. Well Lexi is showing NO SIGNS, which leads to the GOOD NEWS. She is gaining weight really good. FINALLY!!! She is going to be tall, she is in the 90 percentile, her weight is the 65 percentile and her head is teeny at 20 percentile. She started solids yesterday and she loves it. She LOVES oatmeal! I am hoping that this will keep her weight where it needs to be. She is doing amazing! I am so proud of her. So with some prayers and the grace of God I am hoping for a miracle so that next year there will be NO SURGERY and I won't have to have a break down. But for right now I will be thankful that she is doing good and hope it continues!

LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS....OH MY!!!

We finally made our way to the HOGLE Zoo and what better timing then to see all the cute babies there.

We seen monkey of all sorts, golden brown monkeys, striped monkeys, small monkeys, large monkey and some monkeys of my own.

We got to see that cute and adorable baby elephant, she was absolutely precious! I wanted to take her home. Boy did she have quite the personality also.

We got to see the baby giraffe who was born July 30th, so cute also. She was so teeny compared to her parents.

One of my favorites was the baby tiger, I guess there was three, but we only seen one. It was hard to get a picture of him. Lexi pooped out half way through and fell asleep in her stroller.

!
We also seen the baby arangutan, so cute! We had a blast and got to the car just before the rain started...PERFECT TIMING!! This was of course Ashton and Lexi's first time at the Zoo and Ash loved it!
