Friends for a lifetime
Do you ever find yourself wondering to back when you were little? Do you ever think about all the fun times you had? All the friends when you were younger that you thought would be friends for a lifetime. Today I was going through my pictures and looking at all the fun I had when I was a kid with NO WORRIES!!! I have had many friends in my life, ones that have stood beside me and ones that would do anything for me in the world. But for the sake of my blog and eventually turning this into a book, I want to talk about one of my friends that probably doesn't realize how much she means to me...Lindsey. We have known each other since I was 2 and she was 3. My Mom was up in a tree pregnant when her Mom came back and the rest is history. We lived in California together where we started kindergarten. She then moved to Utah and we weren't too far behind her. We lived on base together where our Mom's did daycare together and where we got in trouble together. We have great memories of living on base. She then moved off base with her family and we moved a street over. We would exchange baby dolls over the fence (we were weird and total girls) and babysit each others baby dolls. We would play barbies together, laugh together, have sleep overs, go camping together and everything you can imagine. We are truly more like sisters than anything. She moved right after 6th grade to Arizona, but we still kept in contact. After she graduated from High School her family moved to Hawaii and a couple years later Jase (her first Son) was born. I hadn't seen Lindsey for a long time, but her sister Deanne had moved here, so she started visiting. We could always pick up right where we left off. She moved here in 2005 and I love it. We may go weeks without seeing each other, but we both know that each of us is just phone call or text away. In 2008, when her Sons Father died, I struggled at finding the right words to say. It hurt me to watch my friend go through one of the hardest things in life. But I admired her strength for her son and for herself. She is stronger than she knows and got through the rough times. Even though somedays are still a struggle, she doesn't give up. She married an amazing Man in January who would do anything for her and in March had her second little boy Kasen. We aren't perfect and sometimes we have disagreements, but nothing can come between our friendship. She is truly my best friend and someone I can always count on for anything, so heres to 24 years, almost 25 of friendship. Thanks Lindsey!! I can't wait until were 70 and can talk about this to our grandchildren or maybe great grandchildren. Love ya!
