Motor Boating...

If you haven't heard the song "Pontoon" by Big and Rich, listen to it NOW.

All last evening I kept singing that even through we weren't on a Pontoon.

We went to Pine View with Misty and Tanner and had the TIME OF OUR LIVES.  My kids loved every single second of it.  And they also conquerred some fears of being on a boat and tubing.

It was a beautiful day, a little windy, but nothing big.  It was nice and warm and the water was the perfect tempature.

Lexi swore she wasn't going on the boat, but I didn't give her a choice.  I am a FIRM believer that you should try everything once unless it will hurt you.  She loved it and I am glad I forced it.

And there is the smile to prove it.

We had so much fun, the kids didn't want to get off the tube EVER.  There are no pictures of Misty and I riding together in the tubes and getting flung all over the place, I have bruises to prove it.  But we had the time our lives.

Lex did a lot of hanging out on the beach with my Mom and playing in sand.

And a whole lot of chasing seagulls and harassing them.

And then we were off after such a great time at the lake, it was the perfect day and we had a blast!!!

Weekly update

YUP, thats what I'll call it.  Nothing else sounds good right now.

Last week my kids went to Bear Lake for the week, at first I was wanting the break badly.  Then the first night I sat downstairs and cried (it didn't help that it was that time of the month), I missed them, I missed the chaos, I missed the laughs, even the fights, the hugs, the kisses, the company, I JUST PLAIN MISSED THEM.  Next year I will be going with them, no IFS ANDS OR BUTS.

So what did I do?

NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING.

I went to Gordmans ALONE.

I went to Target....ALONE.

I catched up on DVRed stuff.....ALONE.

I stayed up late, bad idea.

I drove STRAIGHT home from work, that hasn't happened in, well FOREVER.

And I repeated a couple of those steps daily.

The truth is I missed them.  I love my daily routine, I hate breaking it.

BUT, I still had these TWO to keep me entertained.

And entertained they did.  Nova is at the funny stage, figuring out things, getting into things (Okay maybe that isn't always fun) and just plain being a puppy.

He cries when he wants to be held, he begs for a treat and they both are so loveable and love to snuggle.

I did get my hair done and went with bangs, I'm still not too sure about it.  I'm better than I was day 1, but its taking some getting use too.

Last Sunday I was asked to shoot engagements, bridals and a wedding, what an honor.  Its for my Best Friend Misty's sister.

And here are some of the results.

We had a blast shooting these and I can't wait for Bridals and the wedding in the next couple of weeks.  There is nothing that makes me more happy then taking pictures and editing them.

Another BIG change:

Bob and I are tired of being tired, tired of the health problems and so we've had a friend that tried and succeeded with reading "Eat to Live".  Its a VERY interesting book.  Bob and I are going to eventually become vegan with the way we eat, we are cutting out all meat right now and over time will cut out all dairy.  Its going to be a BIG change, but the results have been amazing.  I'm tired of stupid expensive diets, I'm tired of diets where you starve yourself, I'm ready to feel normal again and to be HEALTHY.  I will be starting a blog where I will write about this, so that its not all on my personal blog.  I'm excited for a new start.  Its been 4 days no meat and I DON'T MISS IT AT ALL!!

And this movie, show or whatever its called changed my life and I learned quite a bit.

Time to make a change and thats starts now.  ITS NOT A DIET, its a LIFESTYLE CHANGE!!

Getting in shape

The truth is we have no time for a gym in this house, I know, excuses, excuses, excuses.  Well let me break out our weekly schedule.

Monday through Thursday:  Wake up at 4:30, get ready for work and out the door by 5:25, Bob drops me off, takes the kids to Layton to my Mom and gets to work by 6:30, we both work until 3pm, I drop Bob off at school or the library to study, grab the kids, head home, fix dinner, eat and then drive to get Bob at 6pm from wherever he is.  We get home about 6:15, get showers (homework will be in here soon, I'm dreading it already), do some chores such as laundry or whatever else needs to be done.  At 7:30pm Bob starts doing homework until about 9 or 9:30 and then he finally goes to bed.  I put the kids to bed at 8pm and sit down, YES, I sit down or ride the eliptical.

Thats our routine 4 days a week, its exhausting, sometimes I wonder how we do it and other times I'm thankful we have a strict routine.  Bob is in school full time and in October I start school and things will be even more hectic.

Fridays:  I work 5:30 to 9 or 10, just depending on whether there is stuff to do or not.  I get off, go to lunch with my monkeys, either take them swimming or to run errands.  We always have something going on.  Get home about 3:30 or 4 and I want to DO NOTHING.  I normally relax for an hour, start dinner or do laundry AGAIN and then around 7pm we watch a movie or Bob does homework.

Saturday and Sunday:  More errands and cleaning house and getting things ready for the week.

So I told Bob we needed to do something, I don't want to pay for a gym membership again.  We have an elipitical, but it can get boring.  I use it quite a bit, but I feeling like I'm getting no where.

So we bought bikes last weekend and we absolutely LOVE them.

We got a trailer for Lex and the dogs, because Lexi isn't able to keep up with us yet.

Daisy and Nova love it.  Normally I put Nova with Lex, but I went around the block again and took him with me.  Its funny, Daisy knows when we are going for a bike ride, she will come by me to put her in the basket.  I love it!!

I never realized how easy riding a bike was as a child, boy am I learning that now.  We are working are way up and by next summer we will be taking our bikes everywhere, for right now, we'll stick with our 1 or 2 mile bike ride everyday and go from there.

Update through Instagram

I've been feeling super crafty lately, I go through spurts where I craft a lot and then I don't.  Made this for September to go by my door.

With all these fires and how hot it has been, Ashton's breathing has been all over the place.  Sunday he woke up not feeling good and breathing kind of hard.  So we did breathing treatments, but Sunday night he got worse and I was up all night with him.  When I made the decision to take him to the ER, he fell asleep and I didn't have the heart to wake him up and drag him at 2am to the ER.  So I waited and text my sister first thing to get him in after work.  He said his lungs sound horrible, he looked horrible and gave me 4 prescriptions including a steroid to help with his asthma and so far, he has gotten better, his attitude is back, so I know he is feeling better.

He is all boy, never doubted it.  He begged and pleaded for me to go in on this gun and I did.

Go out to eat at Noodles and Company, Ashton orders a salad, not sure what 6 year old does that, oh wait....MINE!!!

These pictures make me smile, I look at them over and over and over again!!

My puppy hasn't quite grown into his ears, I love them and I think he is so darn cute.

Before we left to get Jax, we had permanent smiles.

Not much going on here, Bob just had the nerves in his back cauterized and he is recovering from that while going to school full time.  I'm dealing with kids, trying to make dinner and dreading school starting.  The kids all go to Bear Lake next week from Tuesday to Sunday, I don't know what I am going to do while Bob is at school....read a book, take a nap, clean my house, maybe all of that and more....who knows!!

Roy Days Parade

I have to say that the Roy Parade is the best Parade ever and its not because I live in Roy, I grew up in Layton and until I went to a Roy parade I didn't realize how lame the Layton parade really is.  I love how Roy comes together as a community and everything you can imagine is in the parade and it makes me feel.....PATRIOTIC.

We got there late so there was no where to sit, I looked across the street and there was a small spot, so we ran across and sat by these really nice people whose Daughter helped Lex collect candy.

Thats all we did for Roy Days, didn't go to the fireworks or anything.  Its way too hot, I'm good with 80 degree weather, but this 95-100 and over is for the BIRDS!!!
